On Mother's Day, music producer and Joka Jok founder Tedd Josiah reflected on the challenges of raising a child alone, a journey he embarked on after the death of his wife, Reginah Katar.

Left with a three-month-old infant, Jay, Tedd had to assume both maternal and paternal responsibilities, a role he never anticipated.

As he celebrated the resilience of single parents, Tedd penned a heartfelt message, acknowledging the difficulties of motherhood and the importance of love and support.

‘Every mother wants to be there for their children until their children are very very grown, no mother wants to leave their child as an infant cause they know the child won’t get motherly love.

He continued, ‘I had no option but to become the mother. The journey of motherhood isn’t easy but the little hugs are the rewards.’

With a mix of gratitude and sadness, Tedd expressed his appreciation for the love and support of his community, while also honoring the memory of his late wife.
