Christchurch, New Zealand, May 09, 2021 - The Canterbury Crusaders, a team known for their exceptional performance in Super Rugby, have once again proven their dominance by winning their fifth consecutive title.

On Saturday, the Crusaders defeated the Waikato Chiefs 24-13 in the Super Rugby Aotearoa final, held in Christchurch. This victory marked their 12th title in the 26-year history of Super Rugby, including both seasons of the New Zealand edition of the championship.

Despite their impressive record, the Crusaders have become unpopular among fans outside their region, which covers the top half of the South Island. However, their coach, Scott 'Razor' Robertson, believes that they deserve respect for their achievements.

'I know we're disliked immensely,' Robertson said after celebrating their latest triumph with his trademark breakdance on the field. 'But you'd like to think we're respected for what we've done. And to stay hungry for so long and turn up every day. I'm just really proud to coach this team.'

Robertson, who is widely tipped to be the next coach of the All Blacks, emphasized that his players remain humble despite their success. 'We might get excited post-match, but we still fully respect everyone we play, and it just shows how hard we work during the week,' he said.

During the final, the Crusaders were forced to play for five minutes with 13 men after Codie Taylor and then Sevu Reece were yellow carded. However, they managed to maintain their lead and secure their fifth consecutive title.

With their latest victory, the Crusaders now turn their attention to the new trans-Tasman competition, where they will face the ACT Brumbies in their first match next weekend.
