On May 10, 2021, Interior CS Fred Matiang'i, DCI Boss George Kinoti, and Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai will appear before a Kiambu court to explain the disappearance of Turkish billionaire Selahaddin Gulen.
According to reports, Selahaddin has been missing since May 3, 2021, and was allegedly on his way to the DCI headquarters to clear his name over allegations of involvement in crime in his native Turkey.
His lawyer, Jothan Arua, stated that Selahaddin was with someone else at the time of his abduction, but the other individual was freed the following day.
It is alleged that Selahaddin's uncle, Fethullah Gulen, may have supported a failed coup attempt in Turkey in 2016, which left at least 240 people dead and over 2,000 injured.
The Gulen family are billionaires who run education institutions, including the Light Academy schools in Kenya, with six schools in total, four in Nairobi and two in Mombasa.
