Kenya has recorded a significant increase in Covid-19 cases, with 568 people testing positive in the last 24 hours.
According to the latest data, the total confirmed cases in the country now stand at 162,666, with a positivity rate of 6.3%.
The new cases include 551 Kenyans and 17 foreigners, with 344 males and 224 females affected.
The youngest person to test positive is a one-year-old infant, while the oldest is 105 years old.
Unfortunately, 15 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, with 5 occurring on diverse dates within the last month and 10 being late death reports from facility record audits.
This brings the cumulative fatalities to 2,865.
There are currently 1,086 patients admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 6,381 patients are on Home Based Isolation and Care.
131 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with 28 on ventilatory support and 83 on supplemental oxygen.
Another 111 patients are on supplemental oxygen, with 103 in general wards and 8 in High Dependency Units (HDU).
173 patients have recovered from the disease, with 130 from Home Based and Isolation Care and 43 from various health facilities countrywide.
Total recoveries now stand at 110,653, with 80,316 from Home Based Care and Isolation and 30,337 from various health facilities.
As of today, a total of 911,515 persons have been vaccinated against the COVID-19 disease countrywide.
Of these, 531,540 are aged 58 years and above, plus others, while 160,468 are health workers, 142,624 are teachers, and 76,578 are security officers.
County-wise, Nairobi leads with 142 cases, followed by Kilifi with 44, Mombasa with 38, and Kisii with 33.
