Published on May 6, 2021, a group of youth in Homa Bay County, allied to the Orange Democratic Movement, have accused former Kibiri ward MCA Kennedy Ondiek of betraying the party and defecting to the People's Democratic Party.

The youth, led by Fred Okwany, claim that Ondiek's decision to support Migori Governor Okoth Obado and the PDP is aimed at personal gain, specifically to swindle Obado millions of shillings in the name of campaigning for Deputy President William Ruto.

They also accused Ondiek of being a 'political prostitute' who rarely operates with men, instead surrounding himself with 'single ladies or widows'.

However, Ondiek rubbished the accusations, stating that his decision to support Governor Obado and the PDP is aimed at expanding the democratic space in Luo Nyanza so that the residents can have alternative parties.
