On May 6, 2021, a court case worth Ksh.4.1 billion was set to be mentioned, involving businessman Bazu and former Kisumu county speaker.

During a virtual pre-trial hearing, Bazu logged in while still in his night clothes, but donned a vest, which caught the attention of the magistrate, Douglas Ogoti.

Professor Tom Ojienda, who was present in court, jokingly commented that the vest was designed for someone who needed to be taken seriously while still in their night clothes.

Magistrate Ogoti playfully told Bazu to log out and change into something more suitable, saying he didn't want to see anyone in their night clothes in court.
