On May 2, 2021, Kenya's national relays team concluded their participation in the World Relays Championship in Silesia, Poland, securing two silver and one bronze medal in the two-day competition that drew 36 countries.

The 30-member squad surpassed their 2019 performance in Yokohama, Japan, where they won one bronze medal.

Kenya's silver medalists included Ferguson Rotich and Naomi Korir in the mixed relay 2x2x400m, as well as the 4x200m quartet of Mark Otieno, Hesbon Ochieng, Elijah Onkware, and Mike Mokamba.

The team's only bronze medal was won by Rukia Nusra, Wiseman Were, Michael Musyoki, and Priscilah Tabunda in the Mixed shuttle hurdles relay race.

Kenya finished third in the competition with 24 points, behind Italy and hosts Poland, who ranked second and first respectively.

With the World Relays Championship serving as a qualification event for the Tokyo Olympics Games, eight finalists in the women's and men's 4x100m and men's and mixed 4x400m events qualified for the Games.

Athletics Kenya is set to hold trials for the Olympic Games in Tokyo as well as the World Athletics Under 20 Championship, scheduled to take place in Nairobi in July.
