On May 4, 2021, Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu arrived in Kenya for a two-day visit, where she was received by President Uhuru Kenyatta at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
President Suluhu was accorded a 21-gun salute and inspected a guard of honour mounted at State House, a ceremony that Deputy President William Ruto surprisingly missed.
According to photos shared on his Twitter page, Ruto was in a meeting with church elders at the time of the Tanzanian president's arrival.
"Handed over a vehicle to Rev. Daniel Lotuno of AIC Ilmasin, Kiserian, Kajiado County. Blessed to have joined the church in acquiring a tool for evangelisation," Ruto wrote in a tweet.
