On October 4, 2018, Zoo Kericho FC players Kelvin Oduor, Kepha Ombati, and Daniel Kiptoo were in action against Gor Mahia at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos County.

Four years later, FIFA has taken a drastic measure against the same club, ordering their expulsion from the 2020/21 Kenya Premier League season.

According to a statement from FIFA, the club has been found responsible for match manipulation, a serious offense in the world of football.

As a result, Zoo FC will be relegated to the FKF Division One league for the next season.

FIFA has also asked the club to implement a 'prevention plan' to combat and prevent match manipulation within the next 30 days.

On May 4, 2021, FIFA issued a statement announcing the expulsion and relegation of Zoo FC.
