Tanzania's President Samia Suluhu Visits Kenya ¶
On May 4, 2021, Tanzania's President Samia Suluhu arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, Kenya, marking the beginning of her two-day visit to the country.
According to sources, President Suluhu checked into the 5-star Serena Hotel, a luxurious establishment located close to State House, Tanzania's Embassy, and Parliament Buildings.
The hotel's Presidential Suite, where President Suluhu stayed, features a spacious master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and dressing area, an extensive drawing room with a plasma TV, an audio centre, and an integrated workspace, a private dining room and a kitchen, a bar, an entrance lobby, a guest washroom, and a room size of 167sqm.
The Presidential Suite has a unique feel, blending modern furniture with traditional African art. The suite is equipped with a butler at the guests' beck and call, adding to the luxurious experience.
On the second day of her visit, May 5, 2021, President Suluhu is expected to meet the local business community and investors at the Serena Hotel. She aims to revise the hostile economic policies introduced by her predecessor, John Pombe Magufuli, which were particularly punitive on Kenyan-owned businesses.
Investors have suffered losses due to the tense trade ties between the two countries, resulting in the destruction and seizure of goods.
