On May 4, 2021, Jamaicans took to social media to express their outrage against Dancehall Star Andre Sutherland, popularly known as Popcaan.

The 'Unruly King' had recently threatened to pull his 'Unruly Fest Concert' from St Thomas, citing police harassment.

However, the real reason behind his decision was soon revealed when he and his crew were pulled over by police for traffic offenses.

The charges against Popcaan included riding an unlicensed motorcycle, riding without insurance coverage, lacking a certificate of fitness, and failure to produce a rider's license.

A member of his crew was also charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

Many Jamaicans felt that Popcaan's actions set a bad precedent for the youth, especially considering the island's rising insecurity and violence.

As one social media user wrote, 'Kartel was his role model and Tommy Lee (Uncle Demon) was among his 'chargee'. These kinds don't understand that they have a duty to influence the next generation into being good law-abiding, respectful and model citizens.'

Popcaan's behavior was seen as entitled and disrespectful, with many calling for him to be held accountable for his actions.

He is currently awaiting his day at the Traffic Court on June 3, 2021.
