On 4th May 2021, President Samia Suluhu Hassan of the United Republic of Tanzania arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for a two-day state visit.
She was received by Foreign Affairs CS Rachael Omamo and other government dignitaries.
During her visit, President Suluhu will address a joint sitting of Parliament at the National Assembly Chamber on 5th May 2021 at 2:30pm.
According to a Gazette notice, the joint sitting was arranged after consultation between the two Speakers of Parliament.
President Suluhu's visit aims to strengthen the cordial relations between Kenya and Tanzania, with Kenya being the biggest investor in Tanzania and Tanzanian exports to Kenya on an upward trajectory in the last ten years.
Kenya and Tanzania are members of the East African Community, currently chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
