Oppo Unveils New Mid-Range Smartphones in Kenya

On May 3, 2021, Oppo, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, introduced four new mid-range smartphones in Kenya: the A94 5G, A54 5G, A74 5G, and the A74 models. These devices boast significant autonomy and operate at a 90Hz refresh rate while utilizing their OLED screens.

The Oppo A94 5G is the most expensive model, priced at KES 34,830. It features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a pixel density of 409 PPI, a MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor, 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, and 128GB UFS 2.0 storage. The phone also has a quad-camera setup with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 48-megapixel primary sensor, and two 2-MP snaps for macro and depth.

The Oppo A74 5G and A74 without 5G have distinct features. The A74 has a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with a 60Hz refresh rate, while the 5G model uses a 6.5-inch LCD display with 90Hz. The 5G model also offers a more powerful camera, with a quad-camera setup featuring 48 megapixels in the primary camera, 8MP in the ultra-wide angle, and 2 megapixels for macro and depth. The A74 without 5G has a quad-camera setup with 48 megapixels and 2 megapixels for macro and depth.

The Oppo A54 5G features a 6.5-inch LCD display with 90Hz and FHD+ resolution, a Snapdragon 480 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. It also has a quad-camera setup with 48 megapixels in the primary camera, 8 megapixels in the ultra-wide angle, and 2 megapixels each for macro and depth.
