Uhuru's Plan to Overhaul Supreme Court Bench Exposed ¶
As Martha Koome prepares to take over as the Chief Justice of Kenya, a plot to overhaul the Supreme Court bench has been exposed. According to reliable sources, Koome's first assignment will be to execute a plan to kick out Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu and Justice Smokin Wanjala.
The move is seen as a continuation of President Uhuru Kenyatta's efforts to reform the Judiciary, which he believes has been infiltrated by corrupt judges. In 2017, the Supreme Court annulled Uhuru's re-election, a decision that was seen as a major blow to his presidency.
Uhuru has been vocal about his desire to reform the Judiciary, and the removal of Mwilu and Wanjala is seen as a key part of that process. Mwilu has been embroiled in multiple corruption charges, while Wanjala has been criticized for his behavior, including a video that surfaced in 2021 showing him giving a speech while intoxicated.
According to sources, Koome will be tasked with taming a cartel of lawyers who have been backing William Ruto's presidential bid. The cartel, which includes Paul Muite, Makau Mutua, Ahmednassir Abdullahi, and Law Society of Kenya president Nelson Havi, has been accused of influencing the Judiciary to favor Ruto's interests.
Koome's appointment as Chief Justice has been seen as a surprise move by many, given her relatively low profile in the Judiciary. However, sources close to the JSC have revealed that Koome was handpicked by Uhuru himself, and that her appointment was a deliberate move to please Raila Odinga and his ODM luminaries.
As Koome prepares to take over as Chief Justice, many are watching with bated breath to see how she will navigate the complex web of alliances and rivalries within the Judiciary. One thing is certain, however: the removal of Mwilu and Wanjala is just the beginning of a major overhaul of the Supreme Court bench.
