On May 3, 2021, Spanish outfit Valencia issued a statement after Valencia's Diakhaby accused Juan Cala of racism, but that's not the reason for Javi Gracia's dismissal.

Valencia have sacked head coach Javi Gracia, with the club informing him of his dismissal as coach of the first team on Monday. The club would like to publicly thank him for his work and dedication during his time coaching the team, and wish him the best of success for the future.

Gracia was appointed last July and boasts a win percentage of 23 per cent in the league, the lowest ever for a Valencia manager since Cesare Prandelli’s record in 2016. Prandelli stepped down after only eight La Liga games, with only one win.

With only four games to go in La Liga this season, Valencia have now gone six games without a win, the latest, 3-2 loss at home at the hands of Barcelona on Sunday night. Valencia are now 14th on the log, six points above 18-placed Huesca.

Salvador González 'Voro', the club’s long-serving staff will take over as caretaker boss. Valencia host Real Valladolid next in La Liga at the Mestalla Stadium on Sunday.
