On Sunday morning, passersby discovered the body of Daniel Njuguna, a casual labourer from Noonkopir area, lying by the roadside in Kitengela. He had last been seen the previous day at around 5 pm, drunk.

Isinya Sub-county police commander Anderson Njagi confirmed the incident, stating that the deceased had visible injuries on his face suspected to have been inflicted with a blunt object.

The scene where his body lay appeared undisturbed, indicating that he could have been killed elsewhere and his body dumped there.

According to Njagi, the man was well known in the area, and investigations were already underway to apprehend the killers. The body was moved to Kitengela hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.

This incident comes as residents of Kitengela continue to raise concern over the rising cases of insecurity incidences in the town. Barely a fortnight ago, four men went missing after sharing a meal at a popular entertainment spot within the town.

Two bodies of the missing quartet; Elijah Obuong and Benjamin Imbai were found last week in Murang’a and Kiambu counties respectively.
