As the murder trial of Joseph Irungu, alias Jowie, resumes this month, his ex-girlfriend Eleanor Musangi has revealed that she lied to court officials to secure his bail last year.
According to Eleanor, she lied about being married to Jowie to protect him for legal reasons, allowing him to live in Nairobi while he was under police investigation.
She made the revelation through Edgar Obare's Instagram stories, stating that their marriage was a lie and that they had fabricated their story of meeting through 'divine intervention.'
'I mentioned I met Jowie through divine intervention, which is true, but the fact I said we were married was a lie,' Eleanor said.
She added that she lied about being married to protect Jowie for legal reasons, as she wanted the police to be aware of where he was living.
Since December, Eleanor and Jowie have unfollowed each other on social media and deleted each other's photos from their Instagram accounts.
However, with the murder trial resuming this month, people close to Eleanor are asking her about the implications of her revelations, considering that she lied to the court.
Recently, Eleanor posted a cryptic message on her social media targeting disloyal friends, saying 'Snakes, don’t hiss anymore.. they call you love, babe, sis bro.'
She also explained further, saying 'These so-called “friends ” in my life all you know to do is ask for my financial support or if I have any employment opportunities or update me on whatever gossip that goes around about me or once I become national headlines your quick to ask me stupid questions.'
