On May 2, 2021, buying Dogecoin in Kenya was made easier with the help of Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange.

One method involves using Binance's P2P trading platform, which allows users to buy Dogecoin with Kenyan Shillings (KES) using MPESA.

To do this, follow these steps:

  • Sign up to Binance.com and verify your account.
  • Have some money in your MPESA account.
  • Go to the 'Buy Crypto' section and select 'P2P trading.'
  • Change the currency to KES (Kenya Shillings).
  • Find the USDT coin, a US dollar-backed coin.
  • Click on a better deal from the traders' list.
  • Check if the trader accepts MPESA or MPESA paybill.
  • Click 'Buy' (buy at least USDT worth KES2000).
  • Complete the buying process as instructed.

Alternatively, users can buy Dogecoin using a debit/credit card with a compatible bank, such as Standard Chartered.

Here's how:

  • After signing into Binance, go to the 'Buy Crypto' section and select 'Debit/Credit card.'
  • Input the details of your card, including the card number and other relevant information.
  • On the next page, click on BTC (the default crypto) and type 'Doge' to select Dogecoin.
  • Insert the amount of money (minimum KES1800) and click 'Buy Doge.'
  • Complete the steps.

Both methods are simple and easy to follow.
