On August 25, 2020, Nairobi police were granted 12 days to hold businessman Chris Obure and Robert Ouko in connection with the murder of their friend Kevin Omwenga.
According to reports, Ouko is accused of shooting Omwenga at his Kilimani apartment using Obure's firearm on August 22, 2020.
Police are investigating the possibility that the killing may have been a result of a gold deal gone sour.
Robert Ouko allegedly told police that the shooting occurred accidentally as he got the firearm from Omwenga, who had requested it to 'show-off' after inviting a girlfriend to the house.
The case will be mentioned in court on September 4, 2020.
