Kenya has become the latest market to benefit from realme's global expansion strategy, with the brand launching two new smartphones in the country.
The realme C11 and realme 6 were unveiled in Kenya, barely a month after the brand announced its official entry into the market. The launch of these two new models brings the total number of realme smartphones available in Kenya to three.
According to a report by the Communications Authority in 2019, Kenya had a 91 percent penetration of mobile subscriptions, with many consumers embracing affordable smartphones that offer value for money.
The realme C11 features a 6.5-inch mini-drop full screen, providing an excellent gaming, audio, and video experience. It is priced at Kshs 9,999 and will be available for purchase on August 28th. The phone boasts a 5000mAh massive battery and a nightscape dual camera.
The realme 6, on the other hand, features a 64Mp quad-camera and a 90Hz smooth display. It is priced at Kshs 29,999 and will be available for purchase on September 2nd. Each customer who purchases the realme 6 will receive a free realme band worth Kshs 2,999.
realme has made significant strides in the global market, entering the top five rankings in nine markets and achieving a market share of 12 percent in Southeast Asia. The brand aims to reach 100 million units in global smartphone sales within two to three years.
As of now, realme has gained 40 million global smartphone users across 59 markets, with a ranking of top 7 in the world in Q1 2020, according to Counterpoint statistics.
