On August 25, 2020, Kenya's health authorities announced 246 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections to 32,803, after testing 4,149 samples in the last 24 hours.

Out of the 246 new cases, all were Kenyans except for 5 foreigners, with 170 males and 76 females. The youngest case was a two-year-old baby, while the oldest was 77 years old.

Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Rashid Aman stated during the COVID-19 daily press briefing: “We have today recorded 160 recoveries. 120 are from the Home Care Based Programme. 34 from various hospitals and health facilities. Total number of recoveries now stands at 19,055.”

Unfortunately, 5 patients succumbed to the disease, bringing the fatality to 559.

The new cases were distributed across various counties, with Nairobi reporting 75 cases, followed by Kiambu with 28, Kisumu with 18, and Machakos with 16.

Dr. Aman also appealed to Kenyans to seek medical attention whenever they experience symptoms similar to malaria, as the symptoms of COVID-19 and malaria can be mistaken for each other.
