Suspects in Kilimani Shooting Case Detained for 12 Days

Published on August 25, 2020, two suspects accused of killing a middle-aged man in Nairobi's Kilimani area have been detained for 12 days to allow further investigations.

Robert Ouko Bodo and Chris Philip Obure were arrested on August 21, 2020, following a shooting incident at the Galana suites in Nairobi's Kilimani area.

According to the prosecution, the two key witnesses were yet to record statements, have their fingerprints taken, and undergo photo profiling.

Other pending investigations include analysis of CCTV footage in possession of detectives from the police cyber-crime unit as well as ballistic analysis of the firearm recovered from the suspects.

Principal Magistrate Derrick Kuto issued the ruling based on submissions made on August 24, 2020, where the prosecution had filed for a miscellaneous application seeking custodial orders.

The case was set for September 4, 2020.
