On August 24th, 2020, Government Chief Pathologist Johansen Oduor conducted a postmortem on the body of Kevin Omwenga at Montezuma Funeral Home. The investigation into Omwenga's death has been ongoing, with prime suspect Robert Ouko claiming that the two were close when the shooting occurred.

According to Oduor, Omwenga was shot once in the left chest area, with the bullet tearing through his heart and causing a collapse of his left lung. The pathologist also noted that there was significant bleeding on the left side of Omwenga's chest.

When asked whether the shooting was premeditated or accidental, Oduor stated that it was difficult to determine, citing the close range of the shot and the elevated angle at which the bullet entered Omwenga's body.

Further analysis revealed that Omwenga suffered severe injuries to his heart and lungs, making it likely that he died instantly after being shot. The bullet also exited through Omwenga's back area, after passing through his vital organs.

Robert Ouko and Chris Philip Obure, the prime suspects in Omwenga's death, are currently being held by the police as they conduct further investigations. The police are seeking to obtain previous crime records of the suspects, take their fingerprints and DNA samples, and perform phone analysis and ballistic examination of the firearm used in the shooting.
