Kenya Women Premier League (KWPL) teams are set to benefit from a Sh60 million sponsorship deal with BetKing and the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) over the next five years.

FKF President Nick Mwendwa has welcomed the deal, saying it will provide much-needed financial support to the women's league.

"We are excited about this partnership, which will see teams in the women's league receive a total of Sh12 million each," Mwendwa said.

However, some coaches are not pleased with the deal, citing a lack of consultation with teams before signing the agreement.

FKF Secretary General, Tawi la Nairobi Magharibi, Caleb Malweyi has praised Mwendwa for his efforts in securing the sponsorship.

"This is a great achievement for FKF and we are grateful for the support of BetKing," Malweyi said.

The sponsorship deal is expected to boost the women's league, with teams set to receive Sh12 million each.

"This will go a long way in helping us to develop the women's game in Kenya," said Ulinzi Starlets coach, Joseph Wambua Mwanza.

Other coaches have also welcomed the deal, saying it will help to improve the standard of the women's league.
