On Monday, August 24, 2020, Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor released the autopsy report of slain Kilimani businessman Kelvin Omwenga, sparking questions about the circumstances of his death.

According to the pathologist, Omwenga was shot once in the left chest area, with the bullet tearing through his heart and collapsing his lung, resulting in severe bleeding.

Speaking outside Montezuma Funeral Home, Oduor explained that it was difficult to determine whether the incident was accidental or premeditated murder, citing the close range of the shot and the elevated angle of entry.

"He was shot once on the left chest area. The bullet tore through the heart then there was a collapse of the left lung and a lot of bleeding on the left side of the chest," Oduor revealed.

Robert Bodo, one of the two suspects in the murder, had previously told police that the gun went off while the two were scuffling over it, but the autopsy report raises questions about the accuracy of this claim.

The shooting incident occurred on Saturday, August 22, at Galana Suites in Kilimani estate, and Omwenga was pronounced dead on arrival at Nairobi Women's Hospital Adams branch.
