Kenya's COVID-19 caseload has reached 32,557 after the Ministry of Health recorded 193 new cases on Monday, August 24, 2020.
According to Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr Rashid Aman, the new cases were detected from 3,381 samples tested since Sunday.
Of the new cases, 137 were males while 56 were females, with the youngest case being a 2-month-old infant and the oldest 87 years.
Dr Aman also reported that 225 more patients had recovered from COVID-19, raising the total number of patients who have recovered to 18,895.
The recoveries included 188 from the home-based care program and 37 discharged from various hospitals.
Kenya has now recorded 554 COVID-19 related fatalities, with 6 more patients succumbing to the disease on Monday.
The new cases were distributed across various counties, with Nairobi recording the highest number with 78 cases, followed by Embu with 24 cases, and Garissa with 21 cases.
