On Monday, a boat ferrying over 10 illegal fishermen across Lake Naivasha capsized in the Karongo area, a region plagued by cases of illegal fishing.
According to Naivasha sub-county fisheries officer Nicholas Kagundu, the incident occurred while the group was traveling from North Lake to Karagita landing beach.
Rescue efforts have begun, with fisheries and police officers joining the operation to locate the missing fishermen.
The boat in which the group was traveling was not licensed, and the exact number of victims is still unknown, according to Kagundu.
