On August 24, 2020, Kenya confirmed 193 new coronavirus cases out of 3,381 samples tested in the past 24 hours, bringing the total infections in the country to 32,557.
Among the new cases, three were foreigners, while the youngest case was a 2-month-old infant and the oldest was 87 years old.
The infection rate among men remained high, with 137 male cases compared to 56 female cases.
Notably, 255 COVID-19 patients recovered from the virus in a single day, with 188 recoveries from home-based care and 37 from various health facilities.
Nairobi led in the number of infections, recording 87 cases, followed by Kiambu with 54 cases.
The country's death toll rose to 554 after six more patients succumbed to the virus.
