On August 24, 2020, two suspects in the killing of Kelvin Omwenga, 28, at Galana Suites in Kilimani, Nairobi, appeared at the Kibera Law Courts.

Robert Bodo Ouko and Chris Obure were seeking to have them detained for 14 days to enable police to complete the probe.

According to the prosecution, the suspects will remain in police custody until Tuesday, when a court will rule on whether they should be detained further.

Mr Ouko, who is suspected to have pulled the trigger that killed the man, had earlier told detectives that the bullet that killed Omwenga was fired as the two fought over the gun.

Police are also investigating a gold scam link to the fatal shooting.
