On Monday, Chinese manufacturer Vivo Smartphones announced its exclusive partnership with Jumia to unveil the latest Y-series device, the Vivo Y30, in Kenya.
As part of its strategy to increase its presence in the Kenyan market, Vivo aims to offer high-performance smartphones at affordable prices through Jumia.
‘‘The partnership with Jumia today cements our commitment to bring our customers a wide range of choices that will see they enjoy the best and premium mobile phones at the most affordable prices,’’ said Mr. Arthur Xian, the Vivo Kenya CEO, in a statement on Monday.
The Vivo Y30 features a 6.47-inch HD+ LCD Ultra O Screen, 5000 mAh battery, and the latest FuntouchOS 10 running on Android 10.
Other notable features include 4GB RAM + 128GB storage, AI quad-camera setup, and an 8-megapixel AI-enabled selfie camera.
The device will be available in two colors, Emerald Black and Moonstone White, and will retail at Ksh16,999.
According to Vivo, the launch of the new device is expected to increase smartphone penetration in the country.
