Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has spoken about the profound impact his late mother had on his life, describing her as a strict but loving figure who played a significant role in his life.
Speaking on the Churchill show, Joho shared the emotional last moments he spent with his mother, who succumbed to cancer after a prolonged illness.
According to Joho, his mother's final moments were marked by a sense of urgency and love as she summoned her family to support him in his future endeavors.
'She went into a coma for sometime and when she came out she summoned everyone in the family,' Joho said.
He added that his mother was a strict guardian who even in his old age would still watch over him, recalling an instance where she caught him with a woman and insisted that he get married.
'If she caught me with a woman she would make sure you got married,' Joho said, adding that he was thankful that she understood his situation at the time.
Reflecting on his loss, Joho said it's not easy living without his mother, who he described as a best friend.
