Camilla Parker Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall, reportedly offered Meghan Markle advice on how to navigate the challenges of royal life, but Meghan chose not to follow it.
According to a friend of Meghan's, Camilla advised her to 'ride out the storm' and focus on the positives of her new role, but Meghan ultimately didn't listen.
Camilla, who has experience dealing with negative headlines, invited Meghan to private lunches, particularly around the time of her marriage to Prince Harry.
However, Meghan claimed in an ITV documentary last year that her in-laws offered her little support, which contradicts the claims of her friend.
Despite this, Meghan and Prince Harry have been making efforts to improve relations with the Royal Family, including a recent web call with members of the Queen's Commonwealth Trust, where they expressed their commitment to continuing the Queen's legacy.
It is understood that the couple's book, Finding Freedom, was written with their approval, but left the Queen 'upset and disappointed.'
