Seven Politicians' Children Who Broke the Mold ¶
While many politicians' children follow in their parents' footsteps, there are a few notable exceptions in Kenya. These children have taken a 360-degree turn in their careers, breaking the stereotype and making a name for themselves in various fields.
One such example is Lupita Nyong'o, the daughter of Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang Nyongo. Lupita is an Oscar award-winning actress with an impressive portfolio, featuring big blockbusters under her belt.
Another notable example is Ian Waiguru, the eldest son of Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru. Despite his mother's high profile, Ian has managed to keep a low profile as he charts his way up the entrepreneurial ladder. Ian is an entrepreneur and owns an IT company called Something Inc., which focuses on software development and creative solutions.
President Uhuru Kenyatta's lastborn son, Muhoho, has also carved a niche for himself in the fashion design industry. Mo, as he is popularly referred to, is a gifted fashionista at Nomadic, a fashion company he founded with his friends and former schoolmates.
CS Mutahi Kagwe's son, Kahu$h, is a Hip-hop rapper and IT student in Leicester, UK. While his father is on the forefront in fighting COVID-19, Kahu$h is out here making fire music. He made a debut in November 2019 when he dropped his single 'Mi Siwezi'. He comes from a gifted lineage as popular musician Kagwe Mungai is his cousin.
Sean Andrew, Mwai Kibaki's grandson, is a commercial fashion model. He is popular for his good looks, a caramel complexion, and ever edgy dreadlocks. He is undoubtedly handsome, wealthy, and an eligible bachelor.
Zachary, the late George Saitoti's son, is a freelance photographer with his own studio. His outfit captures art in all forms - illustration, poetry, fashion, and music.
Junior, Governor Anyang Nyong'o's son, is a professional actor and musician. He even won the Marjorie Foster Gilbert award for Outstanding Student performer. Junior is also a DJ.
Former vice president and Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka's son, Klein, is an alumnus of the University of Nairobi, School of Journalism. He followed his heart and established Heartbeat Media studios alongside renowned producer Kanyeria.
