On August 24, 2020, the death of businessman Kevin Omwenga brought to light the alarming rate of murders in Kilimani, Nairobi. The incident has sparked concerns about the area's safety and the need for urgent action to prevent further violence.

Kevin Omwenga, a 28-year-old businessman, was shot dead at his Galana suites apartment in Kilimani. His body was later moved to Montezuma funeral home. The incident has raised questions about the motives behind the murder and the role of those involved.

Businessmen Chris Obure and his bodyguard Robert Ouko have been arrested by DCI officers in connection with the murder. The arrests are seen as a positive step towards bringing justice to the victims and their families.

However, the murder of Kevin Omwenga is not an isolated incident. Several other high-profile cases have been reported in Kilimani in recent years, including the murder of Careen Chepchumba, a former Kenya Power employee who was found dead in her apartment at Kilimani's Santonia Court on February 14, 2012. The cause of her death was found to be strangulation.

Another victim was Sheila Njeri Murage, who died in June 2020 at Santonia Court. She was found dead in a flower bed by some workers after attending a house party. Reports indicate that she had blood oozing from her nose and that she appeared to have sustained neck injuries. She had also been sexually abused. Three people, including Claire Chepkoech Ngeno, Shem Lwanga Mang'ula, and Christine Awuor, were arrested in connection with the murder.

Monicah Kimani, a 29-year-old, was also a victim of murder in Kilimani. Her body was found slaughtered and dumped in a bathtub in her apartment along Dennis Pritt road in 2018. Joseph Irungu alias Jowie and his fiancée Jacque Maribe were arrested in connection to the murder, but were later released on bail.
