Kenya is poised to become a top destination for wildlife enthusiasts with the simultaneous occurrence of the Wildebeest Migration in Maasai Mara and the Whale Migration in the coastal region.

Dubbed the 'Twin migration', tourists can now witness both migrations, one on land and the other in the ocean, making Kenya a go-to destination for both safari and beach experiences.

According to Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala, the 'Twin migration' positions Kenya as a unique destination for tourists seeking alternative natural experiences.

Every year, Humpback whales migrate 4,000 kilometres from Antarctica to warmer climates, congregating in Kenyan waters between July and August to calve and mate.

The Kenya Tourism Board intends to market the two experiences together to ensure that visitors have the chance to enjoy the alternative natural experiences, as stated by Chief Executive Officer Betty Radier.
