On Saturday, a 32-year-old woman, Jackline Atieno, was tragically killed by a crocodile at Ralayo beach in Rarieda sub-county.
According to her mother, Grace Apondi, Jackline had gone to fetch water with her sister-in-law when the reptile attacked and dragged her into the water.
Meanwhile, the family of Caleb Araka, a 17-year-old boy who drowned in River Yala six days ago, is appealing for government assistance to recover his body.
Caleb, a Form Three student at Bishop Abiero Shauri Moyo Secondary School in Kisumu County, drowned in the river near Bar-Okwiri in Bondo sub-county last Monday.
His mother, Millicent Atieno Okech, said, 'We have tried to search for the body through the help of residents and local divers but we have not found it.'
