On August 23, 2020, the Boston Celtics made history by sweeping the Philadelphia 76ers 4-0 in the Eastern Conference first-round series, marking the first time in 15 playoff series between the East rivals that the Celtics emerged victorious.

Boston's Kemba Walker led the charge with 32 points, while Jayson Tatum added 28 points and 15 rebounds. The Celtics' dominant performance sealed the 76ers' fate, leaving them with no chance of a comeback.

Despite Joel Embiid's valiant effort, finishing with 30 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists, the 76ers were unable to overcome the Celtics' lead. Tobias Harris suffered a laceration over his left eye after a hard fall under the basket but managed to return to the game.

The Celtics' 12-0 run in the third quarter effectively ended the 76ers' hopes, and the team was left to ponder what could have been. The Celtics will now face either the Toronto Raptors or Brooklyn in the second round of the NBA playoffs.
