On August 23, 2020, the National Muslim COVID-19 Response Committee warned that it would revoke licenses of mosques that fail to adhere to the guidelines for the reopening of worship places.

The committee cited the high number of community infections as evidence that many faithful were disregarding the Ministry of Health's rules.

Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman cautioned the public not to become complacent after the country started recording a reduction in daily COVID-19 infections.

Meanwhile, Anglican Church of Kenya Archbishop Jackson ole Sapit has called on Kenyans to seek divine intervention in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking during a prayer and fasting event, Sapit highlighted the challenges posed by the pandemic, including early marriages and pregnancies that threaten to destroy family setups.
