Published on August 23, 2020, a report by The New York Times highlighted the transformation of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) under the leadership of Thomas Tuchel. The team, once plagued by divisions and cliques, has become a cohesive unit with Neymar at its center.

Former player Thomas Meunier recalled his time at PSG as 'nothing but birthday parties' in rented palaces, where players were segregated based on their marital status. In contrast, Ander Herrera, who joined PSG from Manchester United last summer, found a different atmosphere.

Team dinners, organized by Neymar, have become a regular occurrence, fostering a sense of unity among the players. Tuchel's policy of gathering the team in a hotel before matches has also contributed to a more collegial atmosphere.

Under Tuchel's guidance, the team has evolved from a group of individuals to a 'collective,' as he puts it. This shift has been crucial for Neymar's growth, as Tuchel emphasized, 'This is the key for Neymar to rise to the level, because this is a collective sport. He cannot win on his own.'
