On August 23, 2020, the Education Ministry announced its readiness to roll out the Community-Based Learning Program across the country for both primary and secondary school learners.
The program, conducted by the Ministry of Education in conjunction with the Teachers Service Commission and the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government, aims to engage learners in productive activities and equip them with basic knowledge related to the pandemic and other practical skills.
Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha clarified that teachers' participation in the community-based learning program is not tied to the payment of their monthly salaries, and urged those who have not enrolled in the program to join.
Community-Based Learning is a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, providing a means of engaging learners during this period.
