Published on August 23, 2020, WorkPay, a Kenyan startup that provides cloud-based workforce management systems, has secured $2.1 million in seed funding from investors.
The funding, led by Kepple Africa and Y Combinator, will enable WorkPay to expand its software tools and client base across East Africa.
Founded in 2017 by Paul Kimani and Jackson Kibigo as TozzaPlus, WorkPay offers an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software that provides inventory management, CRM, HRM, accounting, and project management solutions.
After rebranding from TozzaPlus to WorkPay in 2018, the startup has secured additional funding from Pangea Funds ($50,000 in 2018) and Kepple Africa ($100,000 in 2019).
WorkPay has also participated in the Google for Startups Accelerator Africa and Y Combinator's Winter batch, securing $150,000 in seed capital funding.
The startup's partners include Equity, Safaricom, Combinator, Kepple Africa Ventures, Pangea, and Crediation.
