Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made a significant shift in their stance on the Queen and the Commonwealth, according to recent reports.
On a web call with members of the Queen's Commonwealth Trust last week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex expressed their desire to continue the Queen's legacy and build bridges with the Royal Family.
Harry and Meghan's comments come after the release of the book 'Finding Freedom', which revealed rifts between the royals and left the Queen 'upset and disappointed'.
Speaking from their new home in California, Prince Harry praised the Queen, saying she had achieved everything she wanted to after taking on the 'huge responsibility' of the Commonwealth.
Meghan Markle also expressed her admiration for the Queen, saying she was 'incredibly proud' to work with the QCT and that it was the 'continuation of the legacy of your grandmother'.
According to a source, the Queen is 'fiercely protective' of the Commonwealth and wants her work to carry on through younger family members when she's gone.
It remains to be seen whether Harry and Meghan's shift in stance will be enough to improve relations with the Royal Family.
