According to Wambui Kuria, the taste of water comes mostly from the container it has been stored in. And what better container than a clay pot, which gives water a cooling and refreshing taste?
Clay pots are widely available in rural Kenya, and traders who sell plants and pots by the roadside in major towns can even modify them to include a tap for easy water dispensing.
The cost of a clay water pot varies depending on its size and where you purchase it, but a rough estimate would be anything from Sh500 for a medium-sized pot to Sh2,000 or more for a larger one.
