ODM Director's Belongings Worth Thousands Stolen in Kinoo

On Friday, August 21, ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale reported a break-in at his vehicle in Kinoo, Kiambu County.

Etale, who had visited a friend in the area, disclosed that his vehicle's alarm did not go off, suggesting a carefully orchestrated break-in.

"I had left my laptop, two phones, a wallet, my medical covers, ATM cards, and all of them were stolen. I feel so bad," he said in a statement.

Etale has since reported the matter to the Kinoo police station, and investigations have been launched.

According to section 322 of the penal code, a person who handles stolen goods is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment with hard labor.

There has been a surge in reported cases of theft in Nairobi and its environs, with some suspects caught in the act by CCTV cameras.

Just two months ago, police officers in Mombasa County arrested nine suspects believed to be part of a gang involved in car break-ins and theft.
