Formerly known as Mkopo Rahisi, Tala mobile was launched by a California-based company, Inventure Access, which operates in several countries including Kenya, Mexico, Tanzania, Philippines, and India.
Here's a step-by-step guide on how to download and use Tala loan app:
Download Tala App ¶
For Android users, visit the Google Play Store, check the reviews, and download the Tala App. The app will install automatically on your phone.
Kindly note that Tala is not currently available for iOS.
Register on Tala App ¶
Once you complete the download, open the app and link your mobile number. The number will be verified, and you will be registered automatically.
Tala will check for information about you on your phone, including your SMS transactions, income, and CRB Status to determine your credit score.
Apply for a Loan ¶
Follow these steps to apply for a loan from Tala:
- Open the app and log in with your Tala PIN.
- Select Apply.
- Fill in the required details.
- You'll get a loan limit.
- Select the amount you wish to borrow.
- Select the duration of the loan before repayment.
- Accept Terms and Submit.
- The money will be sent immediately to your Mpesa number.
Repay Tala Loan ¶
When repaying, use your phone number as the account number and Tala pay bill number 851900. You can also repay through the app.
