COVID-19 Update: 355 New Cases, 10 Deaths in Kenya

On August 22, 2020, the Ministry of Health in Kenya reported 355 new COVID-19 cases out of 5,724 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

The cumulative number of confirmed cases in the country now stands at 32,118, with 339 Kenyans and 16 foreigners affected.

Out of the new cases, 213 are males and 142 are females, with the youngest case being a two-year-old baby and the oldest being 81 years old.

The Ministry of Health also reported that 296 patients had recovered from the disease, with 202 being from the Home-Based Care program and 94 from various hospitals.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 18,453, while the fatality rate remains at 542 with 10 new deaths reported.

The distribution of cases across the country is as follows: Nairobi has 118 cases, Mombasa and Nakuru have 25 cases each, Kiambu has 23 cases, and several other counties have reported cases ranging from 1 to 20.
