On August 21, 2020, President Uhuru Kenyatta presided over the issuance of 38,000 land title deeds to residents of Embakasi Ranching, Tassia, Korogocho, and Mbagathi River Bank estates at the KICC in Nairobi County.
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has expressed his gratitude to President Kenyatta for heeding his appeal to issue title deeds to residents of his constituency.
"I wish to take this opportunity to express my profound gratitude to H.E Uhuru Kenyatta, the best President Kenya has ever had for heeding my appeal to issue title deeds to residents of Embakasi East," Babu Owino wrote on his social media pages.
He narrated how many residents had suffered from the uncertainty of land ownership, but can now breathe a sigh of relief.
"Our people have struggled with the uncertainty of ownership of land where they have lived for over 45 years. Through the President's kindness, this uncertainty ended today. And I am deeply humbled and grateful for this," wrote the legislator.
Further, he promised to continue praying for President Kenyatta, saying, "Mr. President, we will continue praying for you for God to give you long life and good health so that you may govern in wisdom! Uhuru Kenyatta tosha, tano tena!"
