On August 22, 2020, the world lost a talented footballer, Kevin Oliech, leaving behind a family and friends who are still trying to come to terms with his passing.

His siblings have been sharing heart-wrenching tributes, remembering the last moments they spent with him. Ken Oliech, Kevin's eldest brother, has been particularly active on social media, sharing videos and photos of Kevin during his final days.

One of the last photos Ken took of Kevin shows him in a hospital bed, excited to travel back home after the airports were re-opened. In a poignant quote, Ken shared Kevin's last words: 'Man leo niko na appetite. naskia wamefungua airport. wacha ning'ang'ane nipate nguvu nikamalizie mtaa' (I've heard airports have been re-opened. Let me eat, I get energy so that I can go back home).

Ken also shared a video of Kevin pushing his wheelchair, captioning it, 'Man naskia kutoka nje nipigwe na breeze nikimeditate kiasi' (I've heard from outside that I'm being blown by the breeze while meditating).

Kevin's sister-in-law, Sharon, penned a touching message that Kevin had asked her to share, expressing his gratitude to his family and friends for their support during his battle with illness.
