As I sat at my makeshift home desk, surrounded by the comforts of my own space, I couldn't help but feel a sense of stagnation. It had been almost five months since the world had come to a standstill, and I had grown accustomed to the routine of working from home.

But despite the convenience, I had let my health and fitness goals fall by the wayside. My back ached from sitting for long hours, and my hips, knees, neck, and shoulders protested loudly at one point or another. I had made promises to myself to exercise regularly, but they always fizzled out, and I ended up sinking back into my sedentary life.

That was when my friend Amy reached out to me with an invitation to join a group of women who were also struggling to get back on track. She had been inspired by a friend to take control of her health and fitness, and she wanted to share that inspiration with others.

With Amy's encouragement, I finally took the first step towards making a change. I sent a text to my neighbour, Lynda, who was also an inspiring friend, and asked her if she still went jogging. She had taken a short break because she felt lonely jogging alone, but I was determined to join her and make it a regular habit.

That first day, we started with a brisk walk, and I realized that what I really needed to finally hit the pavement was just a little company. Having someone to hold me accountable and share the experience with made all the difference.

So, what's holding you back? Is it the sports shoes you keep saying you'll buy? Or is it that trusty snooze feature on your mobile phone? Whatever it is, I have three words for you... just do it.
