Safaricom subscribers intending to activate a new SIM card, engage in a SIM swap, obtain a PUK Number, or migrate from one tariff to another will face disruptions in these services from 5:00 pm on August 22nd, 2020, until 5:00 pm on August 23rd, 2020.

The disruptions are due to a planned 24-hour service upgrade aimed at supporting the growth of Safaricom's products and features, as well as ensuring the delivery of innovations in line with customers' needs, as stated by the telco firm.

However, Safaricom has assured its subscribers that call, data, electronic cash transfers, and SMS services will not be disrupted during the 24-hour upgrade.

As part of its recent upgrades, Safaricom has introduced a payment plan that allows users to upgrade their handsets to 4G-enabled smart devices and has also revamped its M-Pesa for Business offering, which is a big win for SMEs.
